The Climate in our Hands: animation for the OCE

Project

The Climate in Our Hands for the Office for Climate Education

This animation summarises the educational resources made available from OCE (Office for Climate Education) for teachers. Ocean and Cryosphere is the first part of a collection of educational tools produced in collaboration with international educational and climate experts, entitled The Climate in Our Hands. These resources highlight active pedagogies and interdisciplinarity. Indeed, they allow students to understand the mechanisms of climate change and its impacts, as well as the importance of the ocean and frozen surfaces in climate regulation and in the development of human societies. They also offer concrete action projects, at the class or community level.

Client

The Office for Climate Education (OCE)

Climate change is at work all over the world and its consequences are already quite visible. It affects us all and should be a priority for our education systems, as recalled in Article 12 of the Paris Agreement, which emphasizes the importance of climate change education. The Office for Climate Education (OCE), created in 2018 at the initiative of La main à la pâte Foundation and the scientific community, is an ambitious response to this global need. The OCE aims to organize strong international cooperation between scientific bodies, NGOs and educational institutions to educate present and future generations about climate change, to equip them with the tools of understanding and action to protect them from preconceptions, ideologies or irrationality, and to prepare them to live in a changing world.

We worked with RIVA Illustration in the realization of an animated video on the topic of climate change education. From ideation to production their team showed outstanding creativity, adaptability and science communication expertise. Our collaboration during the creation process was smooth, productive and always constructive with numerous feedback moments.
RIVA Illustration is partner that was inspired by our mission and that in turn inspired us and our audience around the world with their work.
